Annemarie Mullan is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

She has an MFA in puppet animation from New York University and an MA in Creative Writing from Queen’s University in Belfast.

These both inform her sculpture work in clay.

Her work is predominantly figurative and focused on issues drawn from childhood memories of fairy tales, nursery rhymes, myths and fables.

She uses historical and archetypal costumes as templates upon which to pin these narratives.

She is a builder, modeler  and sculptor with clay, using smooth crank, paperclay and parian primarily to create scenarios with a underlying narrative
